For the second consecutive year, fishermen in the Mat-Su Valley can't cast a line for king salmon. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has closed most of the streams in the area for the rest of the king season.

For the second consecutive year, anglers expecting to spend the July 4 weekend casting for king salmon in Mat-Su rivers and creeks had their plans scuttled on the brink of the holiday when the Alaska Department of Fish and Game shuttered most area waterways for the rest of king season.
